Lap Swimming
Adult Lap Swimming in Irvine is available at Waterworks Aquatics located off of Waterworks Way. There is plenty of availability throughout the day to swim in our outdoor Junior Olympic size pool heated up to 86 degrees. We also provide lap swimming hours in our enclosed pool, which is heated up to 89 degrees year-round.
Whether you are looking to lose weight, maintain general fitness levels, or rehabilitate from an injury, swimming is a great option. Lap swimming provides a full body workout and is an excellent way for adults to stay in shape.
Our "Pool #3" is enclosed and is heated up to 89 degrees year-round. Its deepest depth is 3.5 feet, so it is shallow enough for most adults to comfortably walk the length of the pool. There is not a designated "lane" in the pool. You will be sharing the pool with our physical therapy companies and other water-walkers.
Children under the age of 14 must be accompanied by their parent and able to swim 200 yards of the pool on their own. Lanes are limited during shared pool usage. No private instruction, coaching, or therapy is permitted. No Lifeguard on duty.

- Lap swim lane times must be reserved ahead of time through our online customer portal. You can log into our customer portal here. Please do not call in to make your reservation.
- Reservations can only be made online and up to two weeks in advance.
- Swim lanes are reserved for members only. Lanes are available in our outdoor and enclosed pools.
- Each lane can be reserved by up to two swimmers. *Each reservation is for one swimmer. If you would like to reserve the entire lane for yourself, and not have to share with another swimmer, please reserve both slots for your selected lane/time.
- All lap swimmers must be able to swim 25 yards continuously without assistance.
- No private swim instruction, coaching, and/or the facilitation of therapy is permitted. This includes a parent or family member coaching/teaching someone. If this is observed, you will be asked to leave the facility.
- Payment must be made at the time you make the reservation. You must have a paid lap swim session balance in order to confirm your lap swim lane reservation.
- Select lap swim times will only be available at the beginning of each hour. (e.g. 12:00, 1:00, etc.)
- All lap swimmers must be at least 10 years of age and level 8 or higher (See front desk to check level and ability).
- Individuals under the age of 14 must be accompanied by their parent and must be able to swim 200 yards on their own.
- We ask that you only schedule lanes for lap swim times and days that you know you will be able to attend.
- Once you have made payment and reserved a lane time, you may cancel the reservation and reschedule as long as you do so in advance. Please cancel no later than 4:00pm the day before your reservation date.
- No refunds will be given for missed reserved lap swim times.
- No Lifeguard on duty.
- Diving is not allowed.

Frequently asked questions about our swim parties.
The cost of your party will depend on several factors: the length of your party, the number of guests attending, or any special add-ons. Pricing varies by location.
Waterworks provides Deck Guards to ensure safety and to run games in the pool, as well as to help set up and clean up. Plenty of pool toys and rafts are provided to keep your guests entertained. Tables and benches are provided for the out-of-water portion of your party. Lifejackets are available for any children who are not water-safe. Invitations are available upon request. Some locations have a refrigerator available for storing food.

It depends on the age of the children. For children who are 6 years old or older, we recommend a 2.5 or 3 hour party.
Parties are primarily held in the evenings on Saturdays and Sundays. Times and specific availability varies by location. The availability for parties at all locations depends on the programming for the weekend.
The children typically spend most of the party time in the water. We will reserve 45 minutes at the end of your party for cake, food, and/or presents. Our deck guards will organize and run the pool games. We will provide inflatable toys, rafts and pool noodles for the play time in the pool.
You are welcome to bring in your own decorations for your party. Our team will be happy to help you set up your decor. Depending on the location of your party, you may arrive between 15-30 minutes prior to your party start time. Our Party Coordinator will discuss this with you when they review the timeline for your event. Waterworks does not provide any party decorations.
Yes! You can bring in outside food and drinks as long as they are not in glass containers. Please speak to our party coordinator if you would like to bring alcohol.
